I’ve Been Accepted to Art Battle Pittsburgh

Whoah!

Holy crap, on April 11th I’ll be on stage at Spirit for Art Battle Pittsburgh! As of right now there are two other confirmed competitors, and their art seems so cool, I’m honored to be on stage with them!!

Art has been instrumental in my life, and I’m glad I’ve started sharing my pieces with the world. I first started in the arts in high school when I performed in black box theater and in the musical, but I went through all of high school without taking an art class. It’s been a decade, but Art Battle combines where my art career started with where I’m at today.

I remember vividly the rush of performing in front of an audience, the adrenaline, the applause. Junior year the musical was The Sound of Music, and I was the play’s star — Kurt “The Lonely Goatherd” von Trapp. Now, a new stage awaits me – not of lines and scripts, but brushes and colors. It's a thrilling, albeit slightly intimidating, prospect — and one that hopefully involved fewer lederhosen.

As a self-taught artist, my journey hasn't been conventional. I’ve found inspiration in the everyday beauty of Pittsburgh, from the lush parks to the vibrant cityscapes. Each piece I create is a part of me, a snippet of my story translated into colors and shapes. And now, I get to share this part of me live, in a dynamic, competitive setting. It's not just about the competition; it's about expression, connection, and the raw, unedited process of creation.

I invite you all to join me on this adventure. Witness firsthand the energy and excitement of Art Battle. It's not just my journey, but an experience we can share together. I’ll be updating my progress, thoughts, and sneak peeks here on the blog. Your support and engagement mean the world to me, especially as I navigate this new and exhilarating path.

And to my fellow artists competing, I can’t wait to meet you and see your incredible talents. Let’s make Art Battle Pittsburgh a night to remember!

Stay tuned for more updates as the event approaches. Feel the rush with me, and let's celebrate art in its most spontaneous form. See you at Spirit on April 11th!
